Following a series of innovative events bringing to light, in London, the work of writers fundamental to the unique Austrian contribution to world literature in the post-war era, a new anthology has been created, as part of the Occasions series, putting into print these extraordinary new commissions. Celebrating and reflecting upon the work of Elfriede Jelinek, Peter Handke and Erich Fried, over 20 British and Austrian poets, writers, filmmakers and artists have created original pieces in response. This event will mark the launch of this unique book with readings and performances from Jen Calleja, Iris Colomb, Gareth Evans, SJ Fowler and more.

The next Illuminations, IV, will be on the great Thomas Bernhard, on June 7th 2018 at The Austrian Cultural Forum in London, and will feature Maja Jantar, Raphaela Edelbauer, Clemens Berger, SJ Fowler and many others.

This will be followed by Illuminations V : Ingeborg Bachmann on October 10th 2019 at The Austrian Cultural Forum in London, featuring Karen Leeder and more.
