Document, Glasgow's much-loved international human rights film festival, returns with a programme of documentary films, music, live art, debates and exhibitions. Following a year of historic demonstrations around the world, one of the key themes is protest. Using film as a catalyst for inspiring debate we present a programme exploring the power of protest to protect human rights, including a screening and discussion with Austrian artist Oliver Ressler.
Oliver produces exhibition projects in the public space and films on issues such as economy, democracy, forms of resistance and social alternatives. Ressler’s films have been screened at Duisburger Filmwoche; International Media Art Biennale, Wroclaw; Centre Pompidou, Paris; ICA, London and thousands of screenings organised by activists all over the world.
