Empire Me at the Floating Cinema

Austrian filmmaker and director Paul Poet has been invited to screen his film Empire Me at a unique London film venue. The Floating Cinema 2014 presents a summer programme of events aboard a canal boat, designed by Duggan Morris Architects. The floating cinema will journey from east to west London, hosting on-board events such as performances, talks, workshops and screenings, alongside open air ‘Weekenders’ in partnership with leading film festivals and cultural partners from around the world.

Empire Me will be screened on 15 August, 6pm in Merchant Square Paddington as part of a weekend of open air film, music and workshops from Central and Eastern Europe, curated in partnership with Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival.

Empire Me: On the periphery of globalization, hundreds of "do-it-yourself nations" are creating their own little worlds. When it comes to social coexistence, micronations, eco-villages and secessionists are breaking new ground. A road movie on land, on water and in the head.
