Electronic technologies have had a significant impact on composed music for decades, constantly posing new questions as to the nature of sound and its manifestation in space and time.

The reason why a long-standing and continuing interest in live electronics bounds many, if not all, prominent composers of the last 50 years is the inner urge of an authentic search, in unchartered territories, for new challenging creations. The last ten years have seen a continuous re-definition of the sonic even finally being considered a “breathing and living organism” capable of shaping emotions, expectations and new dimensions of artistic and poetic expression.

The virtuoso performers of Kairos Quartett and the charismatic “Klangregie” of EXPERIMENTALSTUDIO des SWR Freiburg mark this point presenting String Quartet No. 4 with live electronics by G. F. Haas (D), the forerunner Spirali by Marco Stroppa (F) and the World Premiere of De Imago (Materia) Sonora by Roberto David Rusconi (UK), sole representative for the UK at ISCM WMD Wien 2013.
