For FAKE SUN at ArtLacuna, Mette Boel has generated a semi tropical atmosphere in the gallery space by facilitating a feeling of a temporary warmness. The show hints at topics such as rootlessness, longing, dreaming and adventure.

A wall mural and four electrical heaters placed in each corner of the space, form the cornerstone of the installation. The warmness brings about an interesting contrast to the industrial feel of ArtLacuna, whilst also suggesting a reference to the general living conditions and temporality of life in the city.

Mette Boel (1982) is a Danish artist based in London. Her main focus is installation and the photographic image. Boel recently showed work in and co-organized ‘Adjacent Realities’ at the Austrian Cultural Forum. Boel is currently at the sculpture course at the Royal College of Art.
