A special cinema preview screening of BBC Two’s Great War Diaries
Based on letters and journals, many of which have never been published before, BBC Two’s Great War Diaries directed by Jan Peter tells the story of 1914-18 solely through the eyes of those who lived through it. Bringing together 25 broadcasters from around the world, and co-produced by the BBC, ARTE, ARD and ORF this is television’s global event for the centenary of World War One.
Adrian Van Klaveren, Controller, World War One Centenary, will say a few introductory words about the project. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with historian Heather Jones (London School of Economics), Serge Lalou (of French co-producer Les films d’ici) and Alexander von Sallwitz (commissioning editor NDR, Germany).
