Pianist Christopher White will perform his solo piano transcription of Mahler’s Tenth Symphony. Christopher White graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2007 and completed a Masters study at the Academy. He is also a founding member of the Little Opera Company. In 2008 he was a Piano Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Centre in Massachusetts, in which he worked with James Levine and assistant conductors from the Metropolitan Opera, New York, on a staged production of Kurt Weill’s opera Mahagony, as well as playing the role of onstage pianist in the production. His Masters dissertation focused on the music of Mahler, a transcription of whose Tenth Symphony Christopher completed and recorded last year.
