As part of the Austrian Ambassador's special concert series the Embassy presents a jazz concert featuring singer Simone Kopmajer and drummer Reinhardt Winkler.

As a young performer, Simone already appeared in several International Jazz Festivals and in 2000 she debuted in the US and left a lasting impression among connoisseurs of contemporary jazz music. She is inspired by the great voices of jazz such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Jon Hendricks although over time Simone developed her own distinctive musical language. With her charisma and unbelievable talent, Simone Kopmajer manages to give her songs a very specific emotional, charming and in-depth note. Her sound is located somewhere between jazz, swing and tasteful pop.
 
Reinhardt Winkler was born in Pöllau, Austria and startet playing in a marching band when he was 7 years old. Later he studied drums at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz and the Thames Valley University in London.  He is one of the most well known drummers in Europe and worked with Jazz greats such as Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Steve Swallow, John Sass, Wolfgang Puschnig and many more.
