Speakers:

Briony Everroad, editor at Harvill Secker. She specialises in fiction in translation and works with authors Jo Nesbø, Karin Fossum and Andrey Kurkov among others. In 2010 she founded the Harvill Secker Young Translators’ Prize.

Jorge Postigo, director of Creative Industries at ICEX UK, coordinating projects such as New Spanish Books and the UK-Spain Film Industry Meetings, amongst others.

Charlotte Ryland, editor of New Books in German, a twice-yearly magazine and website that promotes German-language literature in the UK, U.S. and beyond. She also teaches German literature and Translation at Oxford University and recently published a book on the poet Paul Celan.

Shaun Whiteside, former chair of the Translators Association and member of the editorial board of New Books in German. His most recent translations include “The Weekend” by Bernhard Schlink and “The Solitude of Prime Numbers” by Paolo Giordano.
