This collaborative season presents the very best in European contemporary performance. Brut Wien and Chelsea Theatre, London bring together the most exciting talents working in London and Vienna. The first leg of the exchange programme in London will feature Vienna-based artists such as Cezary Tomaszewski and Doris Uhlich who will present their work alongside establish UK-based artists such as Lone Twin and The Divine David. In Cezary Tomaszewski’s new production worlds of cliché clash when Franz Lehár’s opulently overloaded The Merry Widow is cast with real-life Polish cleaning ladies. The performances in London will be programmed alongside talks, workshops, one-on-one experiences, cabaret nights and a one-day conference. Other Austrian participants include Susanne Kirnbauer, first solo dancer in residence of the Vienna State Opera, and Harald Baluch, solo dancer at the Vienna State Opera.
