Screening of Double Exposure: Jewish Refugees from Austria in Britain

  • Tue 19 Jun 2012
  • 6:30PM

In 2011 the ACF London hosted an exhibition of the same name in which photographs and quotes of Austrian refugees to Britain were displayed. The exhibition was part of a larger audio-visual project entitlled Refugee Voices which sought to collect and preserve the history and testimony of Jewish Refugees living in Britain today. The film, which was also part of the same project, follows the lives of 25 Austrian men and women and explores their double exposure to the cultures of Austria and Britain.

Following the screening there will be a Q&A with interviewees, film director Dr. Bea Lewkowicz and Dr. Anthony Grenville, author of Stimmen der Flucht. Österreichische Emigration nach Grossbritannien ab 1938 (Czernin 2011).
