Thomas Feichtner: hands-on design

  • 12 Sep 2011 — 25 Oct 2011

As part of London Design Festival and the Brompton Design District, the ACF London presents hands-on design, a review of Austrian designer Thomas Feichtner´s work and his first solo exhibition in the UK.

After considerable successes in the field of industrial design, Feichtner has recently begun to turn heads again with his unusual experimental approach to design. His new work in the area of furniture and object design is positioned midway between industry and handcrafts, mass production and one-of-a-kinds. His exhibition will provide a detailed presentation of his experimental working methods.

Many of Feichtner's products were awarded international design prizes and form a part of the foremost design collections in the world. In 2010 the MAK - Austrian Museum of Applied Arts - edited a monograph about Feichtners work, which is published by Birkhäuser Verlag in Basel. Feichtner lives and works in Vienna.
