UMA are electronic duo Ella and Florian Zwietnig, who create floating experimental electronic pop, mixing deep rhythms, bass sounds and hauntingly beautiful choir-like vocal chants. Their musical partnership began in 2011 in Madrid and they have since released their self-titled debut EP ‘Drop Your Soul’ to critical acclaim, and performed at numerous festivals including the London Field Day Festival in 2012 and Sónar Festival last year.
Calm/Easy is the third single off UMA’s debut album. It’s a downbeat track, laid back, relaxed. Lyric-wise though, it is a song against the wellness-craze of recent years, which floods us with a multitude of new techniques for relaxation, so that in the end the search for recreation becomes stress itself.
