Uneven Geographies: Art and Globalisation shows the work of a group of international artists who use their creativity to represent globalisation, and its human consequences. Experimental mapping, film, games and photography expose the opaque processes of a new economic and social world order.

Austrian artist Oliver Ressler is one of the artists exhibiting. His artwork deals with various socio-political themes and manifests itself in a range of exhibitions, projects, public spaces and videos. His work to date has addressed issues of racism, migration, genetic engineering, economics, forms of resistance and social alternatives. Ressler will present three video pieces at Nottingham Contemporary including Venezuela From Below which addresses the radical social and political reforms being undertaken in Venezuela. Referred to as the ‘Bolivarian process’, this has included various legal, labour, educational and political reforms. Ressler’s film gives a voice to the grassroots projects and activists, asking them how they feel about the Bolivarian process and about their expectations.
