The intriguing theme-based exhibition Viewpoints on Folklore addresses the concept of folklore and the associated visual representations in the works of contemporary Austria-based artists. The exhibition brings together video works, photographs and installations by Johanna and Helmut Kandl, kozek hörlonski + Sir Meisi, and Sascha Reichstein. Curated by art historian Claudia Marion Stemberger, the viewpoints taken by the artists focus on multi-layered implications of folk culture. Do locational traditions still prove to be authentic or rather is folklore infused with a variety of connotations in present times?
