This exhibition will bring together outstanding works spanning 5,000 years and will feature over 150 of the finest bronzes from Asia, Africa and Europe and will include important discoveries as well as archaeological excavations.
Many of the pieces have never been seen in the UK including the Stettweger Kultwagen (ritual cart), one of the most precious pieces from the collection of the Universalmuseum Joanneum in Graz. The Kultwagen is one of the three most important archeological objects in Austria. It was discovered in 1851 by a farmer and is believed to have been from the grave of a wealthy ruler from the 6th century BC.
