Madness & Modernity: Mental illness and the visual arts in Vienna 1900

he free exhibition Madness & Modernity shows how psychiatry influenced early modernism in the visual arts and how modernism shaped the lives and images of mentally ill people. As well as original paintings, prints, drawings and design objects by Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, Josef Hoffmann and Otto Wagner, the exhibition includes artworks by asylum patients, therapeutic equipment, architectural models, drawings and film.
