Following on from the original Making A Living event at the Austrian Cultural Forum London in September 2009, some of us have continued to meet to discuss action plans for sustaining a critical practice whilst making a living. We'd like to open up these discussions and invite others to join in. Someone different volunteers to facilitate and co-ordinate each session. The last session was led by Emma Smith and the next one will be led by Alasdair Hopwood. This session will be initially based around a new work Alasdair's made about a series of cultural 'orders'. We'll use the session to brainstorm ideas about how artists can navigate an imminent (and present) financial storm. Emphasis will be on lateral, positive and 'entrepreneurial' strategies.
