Thursday 17 September 2009 | University of London

Coordinators Andrea Hammel (Sussex) and Bea Lewkowicz (London) have organised a conference to examine the legacy and impact of the Kindertransport in 1938/9. The Kindertransport brought over 10,000 children from Austria, Germany and Czechoslovakia to Britain 10 months before the outbreak of WWII. Participants will include Naomi Segal (London), Christian Wiese (Sussex), Frances Williams (Edinburgh), Jana Buresova (London) and Leslie Brent (London). The event is supported by the Centre for German-Jewish Studies at the University of Sussex.
