Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2010

From Wednesday, 23 June 2010 to Sunday, 27 June 2010, the 34th Festival of German-Language Literature (FGLL) took place in Klagenfurt with the participation of 14 authors from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. German writer Peter Wawerzinek was awarded the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for his autobiographical text „Ich finde Dich/Rabenliebe".

Austrian National Library opens new Reading Room

This April, the Austrian National Library has opened a new Reading Room, called the Austriaca Reading Room. It is located on the Heldenplatz and has 70 Laptop workstations and W-LAN Internet access. It also offers a special Library with 3.000 volumes about Austrian topics as well as an Austriaca-database with access to 3.000 online resources. Find out more at http://www.onb.ac.at/ev/index.php

Paul Celan Fellowships for Translators

Fellowships for translation are being awarded by the IWM (Institut fuer die Wissenschaft vom Menschen) in Vienna. Visiting fellows will receive support and are invited to spend three to six months at the IWM between July 2010 and June 2011 to pursue their translation projects while working in residence at the Institute. Applications for are due by March 5 2010.
