70 years ACF - meins ist deins
1 October – 13 November 2026 Austrian Cultural Forum London

This autumn we celebrate a decade of curatorial collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Josie Sanne and Zaccaria Slater, Graduates from MA Culture, Criticism and Curation, present the exhibition meins ist deins (what’s mine is yours) featuring work by graduates from the Academy and UK based artists. The exhibition meins ist deins reveals the complexity of sharing and questions what it means for a country and its institutions to share a cultural identity.

Join us for the opening of this anniversary edition and explore the ACF! From the intern’s office on the third floor to the salon, library and basement gallery, discover how the ACF space seeks to define, decipher, and distribute culture.

Film

CineClub: Bartleby
Tuesday 6 October 2026, 7pm Austrian Cultural Forum London

We are delighted to present a short programme of films originally shot on 16mm. While we don't have the capacity to screen the original analogue films we are keen to support a medium that is increasingly under threat by the advances in digital and AI filmmaking.

Continuing on with our programme of films originally shot on 16mm, we transport you back to 1970s London with the screening of Bartleby. The film was adapted from the 1857 short story "Bartleby, the Scrivener; A Story of Wall-street" by Herman Melville. The film relocates the narrative from New York in the 1850s to London in the 1970s. Bartleby, a young audit clerk, is defeated by the pressures of modern life; he gradually opts out of all forms of social engagement and withdraws into his own world.

70 years ACF - Memorial Concerts: Alma and Arnold Rosé
9 – 10 October 2026

As part of our 70 years ACF programme, we are delighted to announce a very special memorial concert series dedicated to Arnold and Alma Rosé in collaboration with the National Gallery. The renowned Austrian Korngold Ensemble, together with violinist Benjamin Schmid, will present a programme of works by Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Ernest Chausson.

When Arnold Rosé and his daughter Alma fled from Nazi persecution to their London exile in 1939, Arnold Rosé was looking back on a distinguished career spanning 57 years as a first violinist of Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and leader of the renowned Rosé-Quartet; Alma Rosé, a talented violinist in her own right, was later deported to Auschwitz in July 1943, where she conducted the notorious Women’s Orchestra before she died in April 1944.

This concert marks the 80th anniversary of Arnold Rosé’s death (August 25th, 1946) as well as the 120th anniversary of Alma Rosé’s birth (November 3rd, 1906).

Film

CineClub: B for Bartleby
Thursday 22 October 2026, 7pm Austrian Cultural Forum London

B for Bartleby is the final film in this short series of films originally shot on 16mm and accompanies the screening of the 1970 film Bartleby. Austrian director Angela Summereder's version of Herman Melville's legendary narrative transforms it into a film essay about remembrance, language, and resistance. Based on dialogues with a deceased companion, the famous phrase I would prefer not to is revived through the voices and gestures of performers, young people, rap musicians, passersby, and stranded individuals – quietly, persistently, timelessly.

Evening Concert: Duo Minerva
Tuesday 27 October 2026, 7pm Austrian Cultural Forum London

We are delighted to welcome Austrian Duo Minerva to the ACF Salon this autumn! The duo will present their programme Hymne à l'amour.

Boundaries between genres, as well as remaining confined to the same musical position, seem entirely foreign to this duo. Austrian clarinetist Johanna Gossner and accordionist Damian Keller from Vorarlberg demonstrate the exciting new possibilities that emerge when one frees oneself from all musical traditions. What they create is an artfully crafted crossover sound that draws inspiration from diverse influences such as classical music, world music, jazz, and the avant-garde, while developing a distinctive character of its own. The masterpieces they reinterpret with great sophistication and a generous dose of playfulness experience a remarkable revival—presented in a way that is both unprecedented and extraordinary.

OPEN CALL - NeverAtHome

OPEN CALL - NeverAtHome

NeverAtHome, in collaboration with the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and the Austrian Cultural Forums, invites artists based in Austria to develop new works in dialogue with one of 27 destinations worldwide.

The Austrian Cultural Forum London is delighted to be part of this initiative. For 2027, the we are particularly interested in topics such as social and regional inequalities, migration, colonial legacies, political polarisation and the growing divide between online and offline forms of social life. Collaboration with local communities and neighbourhoods is highly valued. In London’s extremely dense cultural landscape, projects need a clear local relevance and accessible framing capable of reaching audiences beyond specialist art circles while connecting local experience to broader international questions.

Deadline: 30 November 2026
