The conference is organised by Paul Taylor (Warburg Institute) to mark one hundred years since the birth of Ernst Gombrich, Director of the Institute from 1959-76. It will examine his wide-ranging contributions to the history, philosophy and psychology of art.

Participants include Robert Bagley, Roberto Casati, Patrick Cavanagh, Paul Crossley, Martin Kemp, Jan Koenderink, Veronika Kopecky, John Kulvicki, Elizabeth McGrath, Harry Mount, Willibald Sauerländer, Jeroen Stumpel, Paul Taylor and Hugo van der Velden.
