To mark Holocaust Memorial 2026, Wells Maltings is organising three events covering this year's theme of 'Bridging Generations':
Sun 25 January 6pm: They Left No Footprints
Diana Cook tells the story of her mother, Margot Pogorzelski, whose idyllic childhood in Lower Silesia was shattered after Hitler’s rise to power in 1933. An account of displacement and the plight of refugees that echoes today.
Sun 25 January 7.30pm: Address Unknown
Two lifelong friends exchange letters as the shadow of Nazism falls over Europe. Warm correspondence descends into betrayal, heartbreak and chilling consequences.
A powerful dramatised on-stage reading of Kathrine Kressmann Taylor’s best selling novel, followed by a discussion on the work.
Thu 29 January 7pm: Nuremberg (12A)
A psychiatrist evaluates Nazi leaders before the Nuremberg trials, growing increasing obsessed with understanding evil before forming a bond with Hermann Goring. Hard hitting film with Russell Crowe and Rami Malik.
