Marking the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, Kings College Science Gallery presents a new exhibition.
Through interactive artworks, immersive sculptural installations and the words of physicists, philosophers and poets, Quantum Untangled fuses art, science and extraordinary research together to reveal the power quantum possesses to transform our futures.
“Quantum not only explains the world, but through quantum we can change the world…”
- Professor James Millen, Director of King’s Quantum.
The exhibition features awe-inspiring works including two large immersive installations from Conrad Shawcross RA, sculptural installations by Alistair McClymont, Monica C. LoCascio & Daniela Brill Estrada and Matthew Woodham, Robin Baumgarten’s playful installation Quantum Jungle, poetry from Studio Quantum’s artist in residence Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan, photography by David Severn and films developed with the King’s Quantum community.
The installation by Austrian-based artists Monica C. LoCascio and Daniela Brill is the outcome of a weeklong residency with the ArtLab and scientists at the Astronomy and Particle Physics department of the University of Nottingham. The work was originally shown at Djanogly Gallery, University of Nottingham in 2024-2025.
