In
1938 at the age of 11 the painter Soshana fled her native Vienna
together with her family to escape National Socialism. They travelled first to Switzerland and then onto
London and the US. The trauma of the war and her restless childhood had
an immense impact on her life and artistic output.
While her work is relatively unknown in
the UK we hope to help rectify this with a special screening of the
award-winning documentary Everywhere Alone. Dr Martina Pippal from the University of Vienna will introduce the film and provide some valuable art historical context.
