The ACF London, based in Knightsbridge, is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic Receptionist/Superintendent to assist a small team of dedicated cultural programmers. You will be the face of our organisation and a first point of contact with members of the public both in person and on the phone. Alongside these customer facing duties you will be responsible for dispatching diplomatic post, handling our in and outgoing mail and managing the in-house guestrooms. The ACF London hosts over 10 evening events per month and we are looking for someone to support us in the running and preparation of these events including set-up, basic audio visual skills for presentations and occasional heavy lifting of boxes, chairs and crates. In addition, the candidate will possess repair skills in order to carry out minor works in the building.
The successful candidate will be a reliable team player, possess excellent organisational skills and work ethic, have a positive and friendly attitude and a hands-on approach to work. The contract offered will be for three years and open to renewal and subject to a 6 month probationary period. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a basic DBS check.
* Managing reception & answering phone calls
* Dispatching/handling letters and parcels
* Evening duties (setting up for evening events including equipment and hospitality)
* Carrying out small repair works at the Austrian Cultural Forum

The ACF London offers paid, full time internships for a period of 2-3 months. Our interns work closely with our Public Relations Officer and Project Manager. An interest in, and ideally a knowledge of, social media and press affairs would be an advantage.

The ACF London internship involves working at evening events including concerts, film screenings, talks and literature events; producing materials for these events such as programmes and fliers; supporting administrative duties; researching event topics; statistics; social media; writing press texts in German; responding to general enquiries; liaising with the public. Working hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. The nature of the work depends on our programme at the time of arrival.
Active enrollment at an accredited university or recent completion of studies
Good spoken and written English
Excellent spoken and written German
Proven knowledge or interest in the arts
Computer skills: word, excel, power point, social media (twitter & facebook)
Knowledge of Photoshop
