Oxford Lieder Festival has invited Austrian trio The Erlkings to perform their dynamic and unique mix of Schubert and folk. The classically trained multi-instrumentalists Bryan Benner (Guitar Vocals), Gabriel Hopfmueller (Cello/Bass) and Thomas Toppler (Percussion), perform new arrangements of Schubert’s finest songs in fresh and original English translations.
Equally comfortable in an elegant concert house or a smoky beer hall, the Erlkings are the only group around getting audiences dancing to Goethe and Schiller. They made their musical debut at Vienna’s famous jazz club “Porgy and Bess” with great success.
They will follow their Oxford debut with a UK tour including a concert at the ACF in November.
