Fair Wind is a journey that takes us over mountains and seas, down the river Danube, past dancers in Odessa, through big cities and deserts, to a monastery and a Roma village. It shows the everyday hard work performed in a Caucasian mountain village, invites us into the world of the rich and to the homes of the poor. The poetic structure of the film allows images, sounds and rhythm to come together to tell a story. Bernadette Weigel, a student of Michael Haneke, describes her film as an account of falling in love with the world – captured on Super 8.
