Austrian-born Anita Strasser (anitastrasser.com) is part of Framing Urban Narratives, an exhibition which brings together the work of ten recent graduates of the MA Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths College (University of London). The exhibition is a key feature of the internationally-renowned Urban Photo Fest, an international photographic festival focusing on urban photography and associated visual research, and part of the Tate programme. The exhibition is supported by the Goldsmiths Annual Fund and Urban Photo Fest.
The exhibition gathers an eclectic mix of photographic artists who work across a range of areas including architecture, landscape, performance art, and social and community issues, all bound by a common interest in urban theory, sociology and geography. As part of the exhibition, the artists will be hosting a number of public workshops including a seminar at the gallery (October 25th) where artists, including Anita Strasser, will speak about their work in the exhibition. Tickets are free but booking is essential.
The theme of Urban Photo Fest 2015, (re:)Thinking the Street, aims to open a debate about what constitutes the widening range of urban photographic practices concerned with the street, and Anita Strasser, alongside others, has been invited to speak about her photographic practice in the seminar Approaching the Street at Goldsmiths College on October 26th. Once again, tickets are free but booking is essential.
