Guntram Schernthaner, Professor of Medicine at University of Vienna, will give this year’s Max Perutz Lecture. Prof. Schernthaner is a renowned Endocrinologist and was President of the Austrian Diabetes Association from 1989 – 1991 and again from 2000 – 2002. For his outstanding research achievements, Prof. Schernthaner was given several scientific awards, including Bertram Award of the German Diabetes Association, and Albert Renold Medal of the EASD. He has published more than 300 original papers in leading Journals, such as Lancet and the European Heart Journal.
