Ready Steady Doc! EUNIC Documentary Festival

  • 16 Feb 2012 — 23 Feb 2012

Each year European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) organises a unique film festival to showcase the best in European cinema.

The 30th edition of the modern Olympic Games is fast approaching, and we have just what you need to put you in the mood! Ready Steady Doc!  brings together documentaries from all over Europe to help you see sport in a whole new light: from the Homeless World Cup to the disappearing Rimet Trophy, from a four-year-old marathon runner to an 83-year-old pole vaulter, these films have many fascinating stories to tell.

An amazing line-up of sport celebrities will attend: the manager of the Spanish national football team Vicente del Bosque, French football star Vikash Dhorasoo, Hungarian three-time waterpolo Olympic champion György Kárpáti, European Senior Champion pole-vaulter Herbert Sepp, Belgian Olympic athlete Yvonne Van Bets, and more!

So don't miss the perfect chance to meet athletes, learn about historic sporting exploits, and find out more about the personal experiences of people for whom sport is a profession, a passion, a way of life.

The starting gun goes off on 16 February so ready... steady... doc!

The ACF London will screen Kick Off (Austria), a film about the Austrian participants preparing for the Homeless World Cup in 2008.

Films will be screened at severa venues including:  Austrian Cultural Forum, Hungarian Cultural Centre, Italian Cultural Institute, UCL, Ciné lumière at the Institut français, visit www.europeandocfestival.org.uk/ for details and festival programme.
