This is a cinematic treat for film and art fans alike. Austrian filmmaker and experimental artist Gustav Deutsch brings thirteen of Edward Hopper’s most famous paintings to life by film. He connects the paintings through the fictitious story of a red-haired New York actress who leads the viewer through America’s wars and social history from 1931-63. Shirley is a woman  whose thoughts, emotions and contemplations let us observe an era in American history.
