Catch the Austrian-based instrumental band Takeshi’s Cashew, coming to the UK for seven live-shows in September. Formed after a series of jam sessions in Vienna, the five-piece band employs a myriad of global percussive toys, funk guitars, and lots of flutes, to create their psychedelic, kosmofunk sounds.

Go to your record shelf and pick out that quirky (and unforgettable!) folk record you found once at a flea market somewhere on your travels. Now imagine that sound complemented by vintage synthesizers, flutes, twangy surf guitars, a hell of a lot of space echo & electronic downtempo beats!

Takeshi’s Cashew recorded their debut album Humans In A Pool at their tiny DIY studio in Vienna in summer 2020: It’s a journey into cosmic krautrock, cumbia, afrobeat & disco, which can only be surpassed by one of their live performances – for which they’ve teamed up with the pojpoj agency, already home to artists like Khruangbin, l´Eclair and Yin Yin.
