The motto of this year’s writeAUT literature competition for students from selected UK and Irish universities is Imagine: the next human accomplishment.
Humanity has proven time and time again that it is capable of achieving extraordinary things – be it through scientific breakthroughs, technological innovations, cultural masterpieces or social change, for example. In this competition, we want to challenge participants' imaginations and encourage them to give free rein to their creativity.
Whatever you can imagine – be it a revolutionary invention, a ground-breaking scientific concept, a utopian social project or a visionary art form – we want to read texts about your perspectives and ideas for the future!
Participation is easy: write an original text of no more than 1500 words in German that captures the vision of "the next human accomplishment", impressing the jury with creativity and linguistic skill.
In preparation for the creative writing process, interested people can register for one of our writing workshops, which will take place at the various participating universities.
As in previous years, the winning text will be selected by a panel of experts. The main prize is worth £500. In addition, there will once again be a prize for the public's favourite, which will be determined by online voting, and many other prizes for all participants. All chosen texts will be printed in our writeAUT magazine.
